Quad and Biped Legs

Legs are not a cosmetic swap in RIG Riot. They change dash, grounded boost, jump, and how much unused load limit feeds weapon capacity. This page splits the two public types: Quad Legs and Biped legs. Quad Legs arrived as the second leg type around February 20, 2026. Biped legs became part drops on July 14, 2026. If you still run a pre-quad zip, update before you rebuild. Steam lists a September 14, 2026 launch window. The demo can be downloaded on Steam and itch.io.

Sage Boatman’s public notes are the source. This wiki does not invent a third walker type. An early 2025 customization devlog even said multiple Armored Core-style leg arrangements were not the plan at that time; Quad Legs later shipped anyway as a ground-focused set. Read that as development history, not a contradiction you need to solve in the garage.

Quad Legs — ground first

Quad Legs are the ground-focused option. Looted leg parts can roll as quads after the February demo update. Public follow-ups on February 21 and 23, 2026 were bug-fix and buff patches, not a new third type. Sage’s notes reduced Quad jump multiplier while raising grounded boost — believe that when you pick a sniper that wanted hover.

Quads pair with missile/AR and shotgun/blade lanes that live on the floor. They pair poorly with a Watcher hover sniper that wants flight boost tax to stay in the air. Unused leg load limit still feeds weapon capacity: a Quad that leaves load on the table can carry more gun weight. A Quad that is already at the limit will not carry the heavy you wanted. Capacity math belongs on garage customization and the weapon tier list.

If a Quad dash feels short, check Dash Power, dash duration, and turbo boost cost. July 14 notes adjusted turbo boost cost to weigh duration more than raw mass. February melee patches also changed auto-lunge timing. None of that turns a Quad into a biped.

Biped legs — aerial options

Biped legs as part drops landed in the July 14, 2026 demo update with Arena, Bandit enemies, and weapon customization. They make wall kicks and flight boost feel like the intended high-ground tools. Watcher pack hover (EN drain while you stay up) is the tax. A bad generator dumps you on the floor, which is why inner parts — boosters, target acquisition, generators — still matter after you pick the legs.

Bipeds are the chassis that makes the light mobile sniper lane real. They are not a free extra weapon slot. Weight capacity still comes from total weight plus unused load limit. Assassin set load limit went up in the same July 14 notes; Watcher pack horizontal speed doubled. Those numbers change biped raids more than they change a planted Quad barrage.

How to choose before a raid

Ask what the next objective looks like. Package routes with long sightlines want biped and a light gun. Interior camps and Arena Foe duels often want Quad dash and a shotgun or blade. Mission versus Assault still matters: Assault respawns patrols on a timer, which punishes a hover sniper that dumps EN. Mission scales with completed objectives. Details sit on raids and objectives and arena mode.

Do not lock legs in the Armory the way you lock a starter weapon. Legs are garage parts. Outer parts drop from defeated enemy RIGs. You can bank a Quad and a Biped and swap between raids. Colors and palettes save as of July 14. Weapons save to loadouts. Legs are another row on that same screen.

If loot is missing a set you expected, September 11, 2026 public notes fixed not all intended sets appearing as demo loot. Update before you assume a Biped roll is impossible. Patch chronology is on public patch notes.

Next steps after you pick a chassis

Take the chassis to builds so Scout, Scrapper, Bulwark, Assassin, and Watcher shells match the legs. Drill boost, wall jump, and flight on how to play and controls. If the gun still will not fit, you do not have a tank — you have a Scout in denial. Fix it in the garage, then raid.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common RIG Riot questions.

When did Quad Legs appear?

Around February 20, 2026 in the demo, with bug-fix follow-ups on February 21 and 23. Update notes are on patch notes.

When did Biped legs appear as drops?

July 14, 2026 public demo notes listed biped legs as part drops alongside Arena and Bandit enemies.

Do legs change weapon capacity?

Yes. Capacity comes from weight plus unused leg load limit. See garage customization.

Which legs for Arena?

Quads for floor duels, bipeds if you need height. Arena itself is covered on arena mode.

Can I keep both types?

Yes. Legs are garage outer parts. Bank both and swap between raids. Farming is on how to get parts.
